I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Denver. I have been in the human services field since 2001. Because research shows that trauma and perceived difficult events in children’s lives can cause both emotional and physical stress and symptoms, Synergetic Play Therapy helps teach children to learn to self regulate, which can enhance and improve overall wellbeing and development.
Due to the flexibility of the play therapy model, I can help children with a wide array of worries, concerns, pain and fear.
Prior to the opening of my private practice, I have extensive experience working with children and families involved with the Department of Human Services. My prior experience has primarily been focused on working with children and parents faced with PTSD and complex trauma. I have specialized skills in working with victims of domestic violence (children and adult survivors) as well as sexual abuse/assault. I have experience working with the Criminal Justice System, the Dependency and Neglect Court System and Civil/Family Court. I have been qualified as an expert witness in the area of child protection.
On a personal level, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. We enjoy camping, attending sporting events, watching movies, riding bikes and observing the beauty of Colorado.
