I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Regis University. I am also credentialed as an Approved Clinical Supervisor through the National Board of Certified Counselors. I have been a Psychotherapist since 2005 and I have worked in the human services field since 2001. I am trained in EMDR Therapy which is a powerful trauma therapy intervention. I am also trained to conduct Trauma Assessments and approved to conduct Independent Assessments as a Qualified Individual for the FFPSA and CYMHYA programs through the State of Colorado.
My experience has been primarily working with victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse/neglect. My approach is to learn about you as a whole person and identify creative avenues to inspire change based on your needs and individual strengths. I have worked with many families, in many settings, experiencing some of the most difficult life events one can imagine. I have seen people make tremendous changes and heal even when they once thought it would be impossible to recover. I believe this can happen for anyone who is ready and willing to work toward the goal of healing.
I have experience working with the criminal justice system, the Dependency and Neglect court system and Domestic Relations court. I have been qualified as an expert witness in the areas of mental health assessment, child protection, domestic violence victimization and the impact of domestic violence on children.
I work with adults without children, parents/caregivers, and adolescents in individual and group therapy. I have also worked with foster parents, adoptive parents, stepparents and relatives in primary caregiver roles.
On a personal level, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I enjoy the outdoors and being active. I like movies and traveling for self-care.
