I recently graduated from the University of Denver’s Forensic Psychology program with my master’s degree, and I have obtained my LPCC Licence. I received my BA in psychology and sociology with a minor in criminology from William Penn University in Iowa in May 2021.
My passions involve destigmatising mental health treatment and providing care to those in need. After being an international student for a few years, I am fortunate to have a different perspective on some experiences and possible treatments. I speak two languages fluently, (English and Afrikaans) and am proficient in French as well. I am certified in Synergetic Play Therapy, and I practice talk therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. I will also be involved in training for EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy), Trauma Assessments, and others.
My plans include pursuing a doctorate degree in clinical psychology- with an emphasis in adolescent mental health. Outside of work, I enjoy going on hikes, seeing new parts of Colorado and painting. I am originally from South Africa so there are so many different things to see and experience while I am here for the next few years.
